Cafés, terraces and outdoor seating

See when the terrace is in the sun, season by season, before you set the tables.

Sun on the terrace fills seats in spring and empties them in August. Check when your pavement, courtyard or rooftop is in sun or shade through the year.

It helps when choosing premises, placing tables and umbrellas, and telling guests when the sun arrives.

What to check

  • Hours when the seating area is in direct sun in spring, summer and autumn
  • Which tables lose the sun first
  • Evening sun in the months that matter to you
  • The effect of a neighbouring building, or of a new one

How to do it

  1. Open the address and frame the seating area.
  2. Run a day in April, July and October with the time slider.
  3. Compute a sun-hours map for a summer day.
  4. Share the view with your team.
